NDT

Non Destructive Testing

Dye penetrant testing and aerospace NDT  are processes used to evaluate different properties of a material, component or a system without causing any damage to it.

Dye Penetrant testing and aerospace NDT techniques reveal possible cracks, voids and inclusions in critical aerospace parts. Both high volume and high sensitivity processes are utilized. Our inspectors are knowledgeable, experienced with aerospace parts and very skilled in the utilized inspection methods.

What Is Nondestructive Testing?

NDT is most commonly understood as a means of determining the integrity and strength of an object. This is done without hindering or destroying the object. Nondestructive testing can also be referred to as Nondestructive Inspection, Nondestructive Evaluation, and Nondestructive Examination. The most common types of NDT include:

  • Liquid Penetrant Testing
  • Laser Testing
  • Radiography
  • Visual Inspection
  • And More

What’s The Purpose of Nondestructive Testing?

The underlying purpose of NDT is to assess the quality of an object due to risk management. This is to ensure that any mission critical components in industries such as automotive or aerospace, are working and functioning properly. NDT does not eliminate risks, however it does reduce it significantly. Not all objects require nondestructive testing, however, if the risk of a failing object outweighs the cost of testing it, then it is worthwhile.
